Followed by a hype around the first Live Lounge CD published by BBC Radio One, more and more covers surfaced. Over the past years it has become a sort of rule that every new band will cover one song that does not really fit their style by another group or artist.
The weirder the combination and the better the result, the more respect, hype and street credibility the band earns. And that works both ways. And last but not least, a bit hard to get into maybe, is Schneider TM’s cover of The Smiths’ ‘There Is A Light That Never Goes Out’.
One of the best Electronica-reworks up to date, the glitches and beeps, the off beat synth-stabs and the complex arrangement remind you very much of Trentemoeller. A great cover.
So much to write about this one, but I think I’ll just post them and you make up your mind.
Both of them are songs that one should have in his possession if he cares about music. At least the original. Music History.
